the kitchen rules, period.

i’m not quite sure exactly what it is about being in the kitchen that makes life better…
is it the inevitable sense of accomplishment one feels after attempting (& eventually mastering) a dish?  is it the openness one feels after breaking bread with loved ones and friends?  is it the inspiration that comes from going to your local farmers’ market and embracing what’s fresh and (if you’re looking) new?  is it the spontaneity of taking ingredients that seem like individual notes and somehow creating a dish that allows them to all sing together?  is it the satisfaction that in the kitchen one is always learning and growing?
or is it simply that when you’re cooking from the heart and sharing your passion, it’s contagious and reaches across the table, across the room even, and life is free, open, limitless, and therefore… better.
